<p>One of the biggest issues a lot of people experience today is how to lose fat fast. And which are the best exercises to burn fat.<br />
Life is super fast paced for most people these days.</p>
<p>Ever forgotten your cell/mobile phone?</p>
<p>You know how lost you’ve felt by not being able to contact people immediately?  Yet only 20 years ago nobody but the ‘Gordon Gekko’ crowd had them.</p>
<p>So without a doubt society has changed. It’s been known for years that we have been changing out lifestyle habits and progressively getting more and sedentary and less active.  We now have the ability to fast forward through commercials on TV…the world has changed and so has our demand for everything ‘now’.</p>
<p>Unfortunately I haven’t invented a pill yet that can give you all the results you want, let alone instant results (either way I’d probably be the richest person on earth if I did come up with it…hmm!).</p>
<p>The old school way that most people adopt is to try running to lose weight.  Unfortunately in the super fast paced world I just outlined, that’s not the most effective way of burn fat off.</p>
<p>So, what is the best fat burning exercise?</p>
<p>Well you have to challenge yourself.  Staying within easy limits will lead to small improvements initially but you’ll soon stop changing….that’s the problem with say running to lose weight, especially if time is short and you can’t increase the time you workout for, first up it works but soon your body becomes more efficient and burns less fat….dull hey!</p>
<p>So with society moving quickly, and with most people lacking the time for 90 minute sessions every day.  What is the answer?</p>
<p>Well it’s not the traditional fat loss method of running as mentioned above, but instead using the latest research from the past few decades and designing programs that utilise these scientific principles.</p>
<p>The science has taught us that you can get incredible results in very time efficient bouts of exercise as long as they are structured correctly.  We’ve come to understand that if fat burning exercises and the  fat burning processes can be manipulated in the right way, they can bring about amazing success very quickly.</p>
<p>Now let me just re state that.  I ‘m not saying that someone who can only do a limited amount of exercise could get as fast results as someone who can dedicate 90 minutes a day to exercise, but the relative gains from the extra time don’t warrant it if you are time poor.</p>
<p>Recent studies have reported that just 20 minute sessions enabled the participants to burn fat off at 9X faster speeds when compared to people who had done 45 minutes (steady, no change of pace).</p>
<p>By using these types of methods you can get almost as fast results in just 30 minutes a day as you can in one and a half hours a day.  The important thing is having a plan and consistently implementing that plan to burn fat off.</p>
<p>The plan needs to include a system that will challenge you, even if you do start really easily.  The best exercises to burn fat are those which require a lot of muscle to be used.</p>
<p>With the correct program that is progressive and coupled with a health dietary plan, fat loss can definitely be achieved in as little as 30 minute sessions.</p>

<p>Is your interval training optimized for your goals or are you wasting valuable time?</p>
<p>Many people just follow a simple treadmill routine and just go between slower and faster speeds or higher and lower inclinations.  While that has its purpose – and is definitely more worth your time than just jogging at the same pace for hours – there may be an even better solution for you.</p>
<p>Interval training is not just doing sprints. Interval training relates to any activity of alternating higher and lower intensities in a set pattern.</p>
<p>As you may know, interval training is being accepted as a more efficient way to burn fat than long, slow steady-state cardio sessions that were once sworn by.  Even though, the efficiency of interval training as a fat burner and as a metabolism booster has been proven, the myth of low intensity, hour-long “fat burning zone” workouts seems to be still living.  Maybe it is just because it is the easiest!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>15 Minutes can be Quick, but feel like a lifetime too!</p>
<p>Believe me I know. At my private studio, by the beaches of Marshfield, my clients want to sunbathe all summer long… some even into fall!</p>
<p>That means my job is to help them ENJOY the few precious summer months we have here in New England. My strategy…  15 minute workouts. I’ve been using them myself for a few years.</p>
<p>Don’t mistake me, I crush it in those 15 minutes. Some of my clients do too!<br />
But like them, I’d rather spend my time using and appreciating my physique than working on it.</p>
<p>I want a life. I want my ice cream and pizza too. Heck I want my pint and my bar tab! Well, maybe not the whole tab <img src='http://12daysoffitness.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Needless to say, when engaged in 15 minutes of fat loss, you can only imagine the pace and sweat that accompanies it. But you can also imagine the satisfaction of knowing you gave it your all so you can quickly head out of the gym or your living room and back into the real world of career, fun, socializing, errands and holidays.</p>
<p>Life doesn’t sit still, and neither should we I the gym.</p>
<p>Why do a set and sit around for 3 minutes?</p>
<p>Boring.</p>
<p>I don’t care about Jon and Kate whose cheated on who. Do you?</p>
<p>The only magazines in my private studio are the ones that produce results. No time for gossip, fad, trend or gimmick. It’s all business. When I train, it’s amped.</p>
<p>Same with your workouts.</p>
<p>You should be amped! Amped to start. Amped to be finished. Amped to feel accomplished.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re someone who seems to be too busy or just losing time in the day, then 15 minute workouts may just be your saving grace. Remember, fat loss and a sexier naked you should be efficient, productive and time-saving! Not grueling, boring and dragging.</p>

The &#8220;right wall&#8221; for our children includes physical health, well-being and values that will guide them to make good choices and decisions. Athletics has long been looked up to as a character-building experience.  Many people will sacrifice time and money to give their children the advantages of being involved in sports.</p>
<p>My own six children have been intensely involved in gymnastics and basketball as well as having exposure to swim teams, soccer, baseball, and track. I know all too well the pressure these sports can put on families as they build their schedules, free time and even meal times and vacations around them. I also know the pride of seeing them reach goals and feel successful.</p>
<p>There are also families that are not active in sports but know that exercise has many health promoting benefits. The staggering rise of childhood obesity alerts concerned parents to be proactive where their young children&#8217;s health is concerned. Anyone would shudder to learn that the Center for Disease Control now estimates that half of all children and adolescents in the United States will be clinically obese by 2010. <p>Make physical fitness a routine part of every day. Walk as much as you can. A simple fifteen minutes of well-chosen body weight exercises can be learned by children as young as four years old. They will love it if you do the exercises with them. The best part is these same exercises will keep you fit and trim if you pair them with sensible eating habits. Choosing lean meats and fresh fruit and vegetables over packaged and processed foods will go a long way in preventing excess weight. Drinking water rather than soda is another smart choice. Little changes over time will add up and you&#8217;ll be on your way to ensuring that your children are healthy and fit.</p>
<p>A systematic plan for also teaching your children character qualities such as truthfulness, orderliness, obedience and kindness will also enhance their happiness and<br />
self-esteem. In teachable moments simply explaining what these words mean will inspire your children to better behavior. One of the best times to do this is while the family is enjoying a walk or other fitness activity. Just a little thought about what you deem important for your children to know and a little effort to teach it each day will lead to children that everyone loves to be around, including you. Time well-spent now will reward you with years of problem free child rearing.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Kettlebells (KB) can come in different colors but it is basically a round ball made of metal, usually cast iron, with a thick handle on it. Their weight can either be measured in kilograms or pounds and can go from 8 lbs and up. KBs originally came from Russia which they have been using to train their military branches way before KBs were introduced in the United States by the Russian strength coach, Pavel Tsatsouline. I can talk about the history of KBs in more detail but I think that the benefits of using it will benefit you more.</p>
<p>The Kettlebell is fast becoming one of the most popular training equipment in the fitness and entertainment industry because of its versatility.  Ironically, I first heard about them while I was reading Reader&#8217;s Digest (yes, I read them&#8230;haha) in an article interviewing Katherine Hiegl (who is hot by the way).  Hiegl was asked what she does to stay in shape and she mentioned that she works out with kettlebells twice a week for 20 minutes. I remember going, &#8220;are you serious?&#8221;</p>
<p>So, the curious creature that I am, I Googled the word &#8220;Kettlebell&#8221; and I landed on the<br />
Dragon Door Publications web site.  Back then, there were only a handful of retailers selling kettlebells and sometimes their sales people did not even know what the heck I was talking about. To make the long story short, I bought two Kettlebells one is 8 kg. and the other one is 16 kg. I also bought an instructional DVD entitled, &#8220;From Russia with Tough Love,&#8221; by Tsatsouline. I know, it sounds corny but it really is tough love.</p>
<p>Beginners usually start with 8 kg (~ 18 lbs) for women and 16 kg (~ 36 lbs) for men.  This is a good guideline to follow because even if you&#8217;ve been lifting for awhile, Kettlebell workouts can be tough.  Unlike traditional strength training or weight lifting, KBs can give you a full body workout because you are incorporating several muscle groups in one exercise.  Some examples of these exercises are the KB swings and the Overhead Presses.  Side note: If you look at (insert URL) my video from the third Turbulence Training challenge, I was doing both exercises somewhere in the middle of the video. Some other excercises that are reserved for more advanced KB users are jerks, snatches and the Turkish get up which I haven&#8217;t even done yet.</p>
<p>Here are some great benefits of KBs and KB workouts:</p>
<ul>
<li> Builds strength and endurance which can be great for sports training or just doing everyday activities like lifting heavy objects, etc.</li>
<li> Builds core strength due to the use of your stabilizer muscles</li>
<li> The KBs compact size makes it easy to travel with. It&#8217;s like a mini-gym in a ball.</li>
<li> They can be a fun, cheaper, and more effective alternative to boring cardio</li>
<li> You can look cool (or weird) doing some exercises because no knows what the heck you&#8217;re doing (that is, if you work out in a public place)</li>
<li> KBs can double as a lethal weapon&#8230;j/k but be careful with them if you have pets or kids&#8230;haha</li>
</ul>
<p>So, now that you&#8217;ve had your introduction to the kettlebell, I&#8217;d like to leave you with my &#8220;light&#8221; day workout. It&#8217;s not necessarily light because I sweat profusely after this workout but it is a quicker workout than my regular ones. Here it is:</p>
<p>Warm-up: 50 repetitions (reps) with 8 kg KB swings</p>
<p>Workout circuit:</p>
<p>30 reps with 8 kg KB swings<br />
20 reps with 16 kg KB swing<br />
10 Burpees<br />
3  Eccentric Chin-ups (lowering part only for 7 seconds each time)<br />
I took a 1 minute rest and repeated the circuit 3 more times.</p>
<p>This workout usually lasts for about 20 minutes but boy those are 20 minutes of hard work! The good thing about this workout is I always have fun doing them. It never gets old because there are many other KB exercises to choose from which are just as tough, if not tougher. I can almost feel the fat melt off of me when I do these!</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Personal trainers love to dazzle you with their advanced training knowledge, but it is ALL JUST MARKETING.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But you knew that already, didn&#8217;t you!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">No disrespect to the other contributors to the 12 days of fitness event, some of their stuff is brilliant in every way. Some of these guys have an incredible depth of knowledge on the subject of health and fitness that even I get a little giddy standing on the edge of the pool of resources at their finger tips.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But all this counts for nought if YOU, the general public, just wanna know what exercises to do, when to do them and for how long.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><em>&#8220;Spare me the science lesson I just wanna workout!&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a place for arming you with some background information on the way that you decide to train, but as I have discovered with my clients, bombarding them with too much information up front often leads to a rapidly diminishing chance they&#8217;ll understand or apply what I am trying to explain to them!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">So here&#8217;s the deal, I&#8217;ll leave the science to the &#8220;boffins&#8221; out there, and I&#8217;ll just send you some great workouts you can pick up immediately and start using them. <p>1.	You must understand the basics of dieting.</p>
<p>This isn’t hard. Everyone goes crazy and tells you about how you can’t eat this or eat that but in reality, you can consume any food you want. You only gain weight when you eat too much of any nutrient. Your food intake depends on how much you’ve exercised that day. You’ll never go wrong with lean proteins, healthy fats, good carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables.</p>

<p>The best time of the day to eat carbohydrates is immediately post workout and with breakfast. Since your body is deprived of carbohydrates either because of exercise or training, you’ll need to replenish right away.
