How To Get Motivated
ByThis is the big question that most people want to get to the bottom of – how to get motivated.
It’s a funny thing motivation.
As strange as it sounds I don’t believe that anyone else can give you motivation. Sure, people can inspire you and point you in the right direction but at the end of the day you still have to get yourself out of bed every morning.
Any other type of motivation cannot be sustained for long. Sure, you may be inspired to get out and ride a bike after reading the life story of Lance Armstrong but will that same motivation get you back out on that same bike in 6 months time when it’s too cold outside? I doubt it. There needs to be something more.
I definitely believe that we can be inspired by other people and I spend a large portion of my life as a fitness professional trying to do that same thing but people have to want to get motivated by themselves more than anything else.
Unfortunately I am not there when it is cold and wet and 5am in the morning when the alarm goes off. I am not able to give you that push out of bed.
It has to be something greater than some external force. The force that has to motivate you and the force that you need to win the battle with is the battle that goes on between those six inches between your ears. That’s right. You need to win the battle of your own mind.
We need to be able to remove all negative thoughts from our heads and not let that little voice win. The voice we need to get stronger and more confident is that positive inner voice.
Once you have the right tools to point you in the right direction, it makes it all a lot easier.
Only then will have the power to finally get motivated.
